اسلحه تهاجمی چند منظوره زیر آبی APS

مسلسل دستی زیر آبی ویژه APS برای شلیک گلوله های 39 × 66/5 میلیمتری MPS و MPST طراحی و ساخته شده است. گلوله این اسلحه به شکل سوزنی با سر نازک هستند.

APS یک اسلحه دارای عملکرد گازی با خط سیر طولانی پیستون است و دارای یک رگلاتور گاز می باشد تا عملکرد آن هم در زیر آب و هم در هوا تضمین شود.لوله این اسلحه با یک گلنگدن چرخشی قفل میشود.شلیک از طریق پایه آتش نصب شده در عقب صورت میگیرد.مکانیزم شلیک اسلحه در یک بدنه جداگانه نصب شده و شلیک مدام و تک تیر را ممکن میسازد که تعیین نوع شلیک با برگه ناظم آتش شستی آن انجام میشود.

این اسلحه با یک خشاب جعبه ای شکل تغذیه میشود.دو ردیف گلوله در خشاب با یک صفحه از هم جدا میشوند.ردیف بالایی گلوله ها بوسیله یک اهرم فنری عمل می کند که از چرخش بیش از حد آنها در حال عمودی جلوگیری می نماید.با توجه به طول زیاد گلوله ها ، مسلح سازی اسلحه با استفاده از یک مکانیزم ویژه صورت میگیرد تا از برخورد آنها با هم جلوگیری شود.

قنداق اسلحه از نوع تلسکوپی میباشد. این اسلحه برای استفاده در خارج از وسایل زیر دریایی طراحی شده است.کار ساخت و تولید انبوه اسلحه MPS در پایگاه (آرموری) در (تولا) انجام میشود.امکان ساخت یک مسلسل دستی چند منظوره با قابلیت استفاده در زیر آب و در هوا با مسلسل دستی چند منظوره ASM که بر پایه اجزای APS و AKS-74V تکمیل شد ، به اثبات رسید.

    The APS ("special purpose underwater submachine gun") was chambered for (under the guidance of V.V. Simonov, TsNIITOCHMASH) the special MPS and MPST 5.66x39 cartridges (developed by PR Sazonovand O.P Kravchenko). The bul�let is a "needle" with a narrow head in the shape of a double truncated cone which travels along the bore with a clearance.

    The APS is a gas-operated weapon with the long travel of the piston, there is a gas-regulator to ensure the weapon operation both underwater and in the air environment. The barrel is locked by a rotating bolt.

    The shot is fired from the rear sear. The firing mechanism is assembled in a separate body and ensures both continuous and single-shot mode of fire, it is outfitted with the thumb safety-selector lever.

    The weapon is fed from a box-type magazine. The two rows of cartridges in the magazine are separated by a plate, the upper row of cartridges are being retained by a spring catch preventing their overturning in vertical position. The cartridge cut-off is assembled in the barrel receiver which prevents the cases of colliding and coupling of these long cartridges or their double feeding into the weapon. The stock is of a telescoping type. This weapon is designed for its rigid fixation aboard underwater propelled vehicles.

    The Tula-based Ordnance Plant (Armory) had launched the APS special purpose underwater submachine guns in production.

    The possibility to develop the general-purpose "underwater-air" submachine gun was demonstrated by the creation of the especial ASM ("special-purpose multi-role submachine gun") weapon system developed under the guidance of Yu.S. Danilov on the basis of units of the APS and AKS-74U and chambered for the MPS or 5.45 mm cartridges Mod. 1974 (in the air) with the subsequent use of magazines from APS or AK-74 assault rifles.
